Mr. Wildside fun fact
A grizzly bear is a brown bear
"Grizzly" isn't a separate species. Grizzlies and brown bears are both Ursus arctos, and the National Park Service calls the grizzly a subspecies of brown bear.
The difference is mostly where they live. In Alaska, bears along the coast are usually called brown bears, while the ones living inland are called grizzlies.
And don't count on color to tell bears apart. Grand Teton National Park points out that both black bears and grizzlies can range from blond to black, so look for the grizzly's shoulder hump and dished face instead.
Wear the Grizzly Bear
A grizzly stands in a rushing waterfall, catching a leaping salmon mid-air.
